SC.02 - Leaving the door open
Handcrafted in Madrid, Spain.
LEAVING THE DOOR OPEN explores the relationship between enclosure and openness through a composition of vertical structures, recessed spaces, and intersecting architectural elements. Its fragmented geometry evokes an imagined Brutalist construction, where solid volumes frame a sequence of openings and passages.
The interplay of rigid planes, curved elements, and structural voids creates a sense of depth and movement. Shifting perspectives reveal new compositions of light and shadow, giving the piece a distinctive architectural presence within contemporary interiors.
Hand-cast in a mineral composite of high-strength plaster and ultra-fine cement, the sculpture features a naturally matte finish and subtle surface texture. Mineral pigments are integrated directly into the material, giving it depth and consistent color throughout.
