This architectural lamp is conceived as a sculptural light object inspired by contemporary architecture and modernist principles. Entirely imagined, designed, and handcrafted, it combines architectural precision with a refined aesthetic to create a distinctive luminous presence.
Conceived somewhere between an illuminated architectural model and a modernist façade, the piece evokes the abstraction of a building rather than depicting a specific structure. Its layered composition of structural frames, grids, and recessed elements creates a rich sense of depth, allowing light to filter through the different layers and reveal the complexity of the façade.
The upper structure is fully 3D-printed in white PLA and assembled by hand in the studio. Its precise framework draws directly from architectural vocabulary, exploring repetition, transparency, structural rhythm, and the relationship between solid and void. When illuminated, the overlapping layers diffuse and fragment the light, producing a constantly shifting composition of highlights and shadows.
It rests on a durable concrete base, cast by hand. The natural mineral tone and raw matte texture of the concrete contrast with the intricate precision of the printed structure, creating a balance between craftsmanship and contemporary fabrication. This dialogue between materials defines the character of the piece.
