PASSAGE

An imagined structure shaped by movement, tension, and verticality.

PASSAGE is a handcrafted architectural sculpture inspired by the raw geometries, structural complexity, and monumental presence of Brutalist architecture. Conceived and designed by an architect, the piece translates architectural forms into the intimate scale of a collectible object, creating a layered composition of vertical elements, intersecting frames, deep openings, and a distinctive curved line that moves through the structure.

Each sculpture is individually cast and finished by hand in my studio in Madrid using a custom-developed mineral composite of ultra-fine cement and high-strength alpha plaster. Carefully formulated to combine mechanical strength with a high level of precision, the material allows sharp edges, narrow openings, layered volumes, and intricate architectural details to be reproduced while retaining the tactile character of a mineral surface.

The composition is built around a dialogue between rigid orthogonal structures and a sweeping curved element that crosses the sculpture. This contrast introduces movement and tension into the otherwise rational geometry, suggesting a passage, trajectory, or fragment of circulation within an imagined architecture. As light moves across the piece, its overlapping planes and recessed spaces create shifting shadows and reveal new depths from different viewpoints.

Despite its compact scale, PASSAGE carries the presence of a much larger structure. Its vertical proportions, dense construction, and architectural rhythm allow it to be read as a fragment extracted from an undefined monument — part of a place that may never have existed. Somewhere between architecture, sculpture, and collectible design, it is conceived as an autonomous artwork for contemporary interiors.

Displayed on a shelf, console, desk, pedestal, or within a curated collection, PASSAGE brings a strong architectural presence to Brutalist, minimalist, modern, and industrial spaces. Each piece is individually made, with subtle variations in pores, texture, and mineral surface inherent to the casting process.
